Summary

Walsingham Elementary School is a public elementary school in Largo, Florida, serving 380 students in grades PK-5. The school is part of the Pinellas District, which is ranked 19 out of 67 districts in the state and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Walsingham Elementary faces some challenges, particularly with high chronic absenteeism rates that exceed the district and state averages. While the school's math and science proficiency scores are competitive, its English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency, especially in the lower grades, lags behind the Pinellas District and Florida. Interestingly, nearby schools like Frontier Elementary and Ridgecrest Elementary have similar performance profiles to Walsingham. However, public charter schools in the area, such as Plato Seminole and Pinellas Preparatory Academy, generally outperform Walsingham, particularly in the upper grades.

Walsingham Elementary's spending per student is higher than the Pinellas District and state averages, suggesting a focus on resource allocation. The school's performance has been somewhat inconsistent over the years, with fluctuations in its statewide ranking. Addressing the chronic absenteeism issue and improving overall academic performance, especially in ELA, could be key focus areas for the school's administration and the Pinellas District.

Open Quote I have seen very good care and interest in my sons education.I also see many good heart teachers ,volunteers and staff members with great dedication. My older son is 19 years old now and he was a student for this school since first grade ,he was treated the same way with love and respect feel confident with my son in Walsingham Elementary because,I know he is in a safe school,I always take my time to observe how work and service is being taking care of.I find this School with more positive impact in wanting students to reach a higher education level, even though it has a low rating I think parents should get more involve with their children to acomplich a better and higher learnig education.
