Open Quote We are from out of state and I am very displeased with the school as well as the school system. My son was in gifted serv. program back home and now that we moved here his grades have dropped. It is taking forever to get him in the program here and the attitudes that i'm getting from the staff is that we are a joke. That my son isnt has smart as I say or his previous school says. The work is crazy easy and my son has already completed the math that they are working on. His grades have dropped and no one seems to care except for me. The teacher is rude and acts as though i am bothering her if i call to disscuss my son. Close Quote

Open Quote The staff and teachers are sweet (most teachers!). Principal is approachable. PTA is more active this year. The classes my girls have been in have been quite controlled and a good learning environment. However, the curriculum changed last yr (while we were out of country), and this is new for us now. I do not like the new curriculum near as much, and find some of the homework (1st grade) at times hard for ME! It is harder, and I have seen my kids more discouraged than before, and not excelling as easily. Their grades have gone down a small bit. This does change the atmosphere of the school. Before this change I would rate this school a 5, but now its a 3 to me. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
