Summary

Renaissance Charter School At Cooper City is a K-8 charter school in Cooper City, FL, serving 1,213 students within the Broward district, and it stands out as a top-performing school in the state, ranking in the top 16% of all Florida schools.

The most remarkable feature of this school is its near-zero chronic absenteeism rate of just 0.3% for the 2023-2024 school year. This is dramatically lower than the district average of 33.6% and every nearby school, such as Embassy Creek Elementary School (17.3%) and Pasadena Lakes Elementary School (33.5%). This high level of student engagement is a core strength that likely drives the school's consistent academic success across all grade levels. For example, in the 2025-2026 school year, English Language Arts proficiency ranged from 67% in 4th grade to 89% in 6th grade, while math proficiency ranged from 69% in 5th grade to an impressive 91% in 7th grade. The school also excels in advanced middle school subjects, achieving 100% proficiency in Geometry and Biology 1 End-of-Course exams, far outpacing district averages.

Interestingly, the school achieves these results with a per-student spending of $9,023, which is significantly lower than many high-performing peers like Cooper City Elementary School ($13,120), suggesting highly efficient resource allocation. It is also important to note that the school serves a diverse socioeconomic population, with nearly 60% of students eligible for free or reduced lunch, yet it still outperforms many less diverse schools in the area. This success is not guaranteed by its charter network alone, as a stark contrast exists with Renaissance Charter Schools At Pines, a nearby school with a much higher poverty rate and lower academic performance. For parents seeking a strong, consistent K-8 option that avoids the typical middle school transition dip, this school is a standout choice.

Open Quote Great School to consider....great Teachers, awesome staff, BEST Principal (Verdier) and Assistant (Ms. Padierne), good Academics, excellent communication and parent's involvement. Transparent in terms of Fundraiser (parents are involved in EVERYTHING) and Test results. They have an "open door" policy, parents can talk to Teachers, Staff, Principal, etc. ANYTIME. I couldn't be happier with this School, my son started when they open last year (1st Grade), he's going to 3rd Grade next year.
