Open Quote In a previous comment written by one of my fellow parents it was said that McActhur High School is an excellent school. I do concede now that she was overlooking the true facts. McArthur High School is not the best school to send your children to. If they do go there they will spend five hours of their lives doing nothing each day and coming home no smarter than the day before. Sanitation is dismal at this school and the pretty greenery is just a façade for the underlying school problems. This includes broken air conditioning, overcrowded classrooms, and unclean restrooms. As for the education that the children are suppose to be getting, there isn’t one for most teachers only go to work to pick up their paychecks and they do nothing else. Close Quote

Open Quote McArthur High School is a place that makes all of its students feel welcome. The beautiful greenery attracts many and greatly depicts the hard work exhibited by the school's students. McArthur offers a wide range of classes that suits the students' diverse interests as well as classes that thoroughly prepare them for the future. Additionally, McArthur High houses some of the best teachers I have ever seen, especially in their Math, English, and Science departments. Personally, I feel that McArthur High School may be one of the best schools to send your child if you want to adequately prepare them for the future. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
