Pearson School in Winsted, CT, serves 318 students in grades 3 through 6 and is the upper-elementary partner to Mary P. Hinsdale School (PK–2) within the Winchester School District. The district ranks in the 19th percentile statewide, but Pearson itself has climbed from the 21st percentile in 2015–2016 to the 37th percentile (307th of 491 schools) by 2025–2026, making it one of the stronger performers in a lower-ranked district.

Pearson's test scores are mixed but include clear bright spots. In 2025–2026, 5th-grade math proficiency reached 61.5% versus 45.8% statewide, and 5th-grade science hit 69.2% versus 52.9% statewide — both comfortably ahead of Connecticut averages and competitive with nearby Ann Antolini School. However, 4th-grade math trails significantly (26.5% vs. 52.1% statewide).
