Open Quote Scotland Elementary is like one of the best private schools - but it is public! It has caring teachers, an amazing principal and a close-knit group of parents that are actively involved in the school. I have two children who attend the school and have been impressed by all that they have learned through the well-rounded curriculum. Art, music, physical education complement a rigorous academic program of math, science, reading and writing.

The school also has wonderful traditions such as Scotty spirit day (the Scotland terrier is the mascot of course), Halloween (all the teachers and the principal dress up), parties at the end and beginning of the school year, Chess night, Math night and much, much more. It is also in one of the most beautiful locations in Ridgefield. I would recommend Scotland to any parent interested in giving their children the best elementary education. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
