Summary:

Weston School District is a small, exceptionally high-performing district in Connecticut serving 2,086 students across four 5-star schools: Hurlbutt Elementary School (PK–2), Weston Intermediate School (3–5), Weston Middle School (6–8), and Weston High School (9–12).

The standout is Weston High School, ranked #1 out of 133 Connecticut high schools with a 99.5% graduation rate and exceptional test scores: 95.6% ELA proficiency, 72.5% math, and 92.0% science — all roughly double the state averages. Weston Middle School follows closely, ranked #7 in the state, with 8th-grade science at 88.3% and math at 84.1%, though 6th-grade ELA dropped sharply from 88.6% to 74.3% this year. Weston Intermediate School ranks #22 statewide, with 5th-grade ELA at 88.0% and strong 3rd-grade gains, though 4th-grade scores dipped slightly. Hurlbutt Elementary School has no test data but leads the district with the lowest chronic absenteeism (3.8%) and excellent student-teacher ratios.

District-wide, every school carries a 5-star rating, and chronic absenteeism maxes out at just 5.0% versus the 16.4% state average. Free/reduced lunch eligibility is extremely low (1.35–2.72%), and per-student spending ranges from $21,151 at Weston Intermediate to $23,419 at the high school — about $2,000 more for secondary students. ELA consistently outpaces math across all grades, with the largest gap at the high school (95.6% vs. 72.5%). All four schools share the same street — School Road — forming a centralized campus that likely supports strong coordination between grade levels. With top-tier rankings, minimal absenteeism, and proficiency rates 1.5 to 2 times the state average, Weston offers a consistently excellent education from preschool through high school.
