Among elementary schools, Daniels Farm School stands out as the top performer, ranking #21 of 491 elementary schools statewide with the district's lowest free/reduced lunch rate (10.74%) and the strongest proficiency rates in nearly every grade and subject. At the middle school level, Hillcrest Middle School is the clear academic leader, ranking #15 of 258 middle schools and outperforming Madison Middle School in nearly every measure, from 8th grade math (76.8% vs. 61.6%) to chronic absenteeism (4.1% vs. 8.1%). Trumbull High School, the district's only high school, posts a remarkable 99.3% graduation rate, 80.6% SAT ELA proficiency, and 76.8% NGSS science proficiency, though SAT math proficiency (51%) remains its relative weak point.

While the district excels overall, there is meaningful variation among elementary schools.
