The district's crown jewel is Niantic Center School, which ranks 16th out of 491 elementary schools (97th percentile) for the second consecutive year, with 4th grade math proficiency of 91.9% and 3rd grade math of 84.2%, far above district and state averages. Among the elementary schools, Niantic Center leads, while Lillie B. Haynes School trails the district in most subjects, including 4th grade math at 68.6% versus the district's 76.1%.
