No warnings - get written up the first time you mess up or the first time they tell you that you’ve messed up.

No feedback until weeks or months later - you could be making a mistake and they won’t tell you until they pull you in their office and hand you a four package packet of things that you’ve done “wrong” even though you’re new and still learning.

No training - They expect for you to know their system and never make a mistake

Not a positive working environment - Whenever you’re pulled in the admins office it’s usually bad.

Getting angry about small things - Head of the school literally yells at you like you're a child

Admin Team is a mess- unorganized, mismanaged, toxic, opposing views of what you’re supposed to be doing so you’re always “in trouble”.

Time off - Well even though it’s in your contract if you take time off you’ll get in trouble no matter what, unless you’ve been there for 1 or more years.

No trust - They won’t trust you until you’ve earned their trust after 3 years of working.

Food - You DON’T get a lunch break and you can’t order food or go get food even if all of the students are gone.

Students with behavioral issues - When you’re hired they’ll try to tell you that they don’t take students with behavioral issues but that couldn’t be further from the truth. They have violent students.

Pro- They have a fragrance free environment that they sometimes enforce.

Basically while working here I was bullied, pushed around, and underappreciated. During my last week I had to physically put myself between two students because one of them was trying to hit the other. They have a student in their school who has pulled a knife on his teacher in the past but because his family has money he is allowed to stay. They also have a student that if you ask him if he needs help because he isn’t working he will start shaking and balling up his fists like he wants to punch you.

Preschool students are easier to manage than the majority of the kids they have at this school.

The lesson plans are laughable and thrown together without much thought and the students couldn’t care less about the material that they are partially learning. There is even a teacher who has an “I don’t give an F” meter who tells the kids that he doesn’t care about the grading system, or their grades, or how they act.

As far as the fragrance free policy goes.. If you are deathly allergic to fragrances or you can’t be around them and you’re asked to sit in a room with a child who is wearing so much cologne that it trails through the entire school and you ask if someone else can sit there for the 15 minutes you’re needed but if not then you’ll gladly do it.. They consider that “refusal” and you’ll get in trouble because “it’s up to the admin team to determine if a student is wearing cologne or not” even if part of that admin team actually agreed that he was.

As a last note: Their “staffing/quiet” room is for the kids that don’t listen, that are violent, and refuse to do anything while they are in school. It’s glorified babysitting.

There is also a staff member that refers to the students as “extra special” and uses the word retarded and has talked about partying and dating with other students.

Basically if you’re willing to work with people that don’t like one another, that don’t agree on anything, that will stab you in the back, that won’t support you, that will not pay you what you’re worth, that will expect you to do something a certain way without telling you, that will nit-pick and tear you down then this place is for you.

They even had a young girl quit, and lie about her reason for quitting by saying she was in the hospital so she didn’t have to come back… it’s THAT bad. Close Quote
