As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My son was enrolled in KQA from Kindergarten to sixth grade. During that time, he received extra help with reading as he was behind however, he made no progress. There was no evidence of additional evaluations to find out why he was making no progress. In seventh grade I moved him to another school (St. Vrain Valley School District) that noticed right away that he was struggling with reading, and that a full workup should have been done years ago by KQA. The new school did an extensive evaluation and found the root problem of why he struggles with reading. Furthermore, as a very involved parent, it has been made clear to me that many of the basic concepts my son is now having to learn at a regular public school were not taught at KQA. Oh, how I wish I had known that this school does not have to follow the same rules for curriculum that public schools must follow. Had I known that, I would never have considered enrolling him in KQA. :( Close Quote

Open Quote I've watched my child go from struggling to read and avoiding books to reading well on her own and wanting a library card to "get more books Mommy!". I'm impressed with the teachers and staff who have endured a lot to rise above themselves and inspire my child to do better! Her sister will be starting there next year and they both are looking forward to it. Close Quote

Open Quote Knowledge Quest is a great school and my kids love it! The attention the teachers show to my kids has been a blessing. They have improved their study skills as well as their grades while learning a harder curiculum than the public schools offer. Close Quote

Open Quote I have had all 4 of my kids at this school ... my oldest has moved on to High School. Her teachers have commented on how prepared she was for HS ... that's all because KQA's teachers and staff have done an excellent job in her education. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is struggling between being an alternative school or a school of choice. The administration and board need to not only advertise higher standards and academic excellence, but they also need to produce it regardless of enrollment totals. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
