Summary

Bradford K8 South is a K–4 elementary school in Littleton, CO, serving 371 students in Jefferson County School District No. R-1. It is one of the strongest schools in the state, ranking 38th out of 943 Colorado elementary schools (96th percentile) and earning a 5-star rating for the 2025–2026 school year. That places it at the top of its local comparison group by a wide margin — the next-closest nearby school, Westridge Elementary, ranks 80th, followed by Ute Meadows Elementary at 98th and Shaffer Elementary at 133rd.

Academically, Bradford is far above district and state averages. On the 2025–2026 CMAS tests, 77.6% of students scored proficient in English Language Arts and 69.0% in Math, compared with district averages of 53.7% and 44.6% and state averages of 44.7% and 37.3%. Bradford leads every nearby school in both subjects, beating the local peer average by roughly 17 percentage points. The school has also shown strong momentum: math proficiency has climbed from 50.9% to 69.0% in four years, and ELA from 64.5% to 77.6%. Both boys and girls are well served, with each group ranking in the 93rd–95th percentile statewide.

Bradford also stands out for attendance. Only 3.7% of students are chronically absent, compared with a statewide rate of 28.4% and a local peer average near 12%. The school serves a highly advantaged population — just 4% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch, versus about 23% at nearby schools. Notably, Bradford achieves these results despite having the highest student-teacher ratio (18.0) in its peer group. One nuance for parents: Bradford's Gifted and Talented subgroup ranks in the 68th percentile statewide, suggesting room to grow in challenging the most advanced learners. And since Bradford only serves through 4th grade, families will want to consider how students transition to 5th grade at their next school.

Open Quote I did not have the best experience with this school. I was looking for a nice school in the area and decided to check out a few. All other schools were welcoming and were eager to show me the classroom and answer any questions I may have. I went to Bradford and their secretary was the rudest person I have spoken with in a while. I did not get a tour and in fact she was questioning my reasoning for wanting one. She said that the teachers were qualified and just dismissed me. I also tried to ask about the "hug and go" and she told me that the explanation is in the title. She was stuck up and reminded me of the bullies I had in my school back in the day. I am very disappointed and was not impressed Close Quote

Open Quote How can you rate this school as anything other than excellent? Its CSAP scores are the BEST of over 100 elementary schools in Jefferson County. I moved to Ken-Caryl Valley 17 years ago because of this school and have not been disappointed. What surprises me is how ridiculously low property values are here when the school is better than all but five schools in the much hyped "cherry creek school district". Districts are an average - Bradford is the best! Close Quote
