Open Quote Worst school district out of the 7 we’ve been in. When Covid hit, the district took 6 weeks longer than anywhere else to figure out a plan. That plan started with offering only 4 days of remote learning. That 5th day the school demanded kids log in to complete an absentee form. A secretary in the district told me because they submit those forms to the state for funding. In other words, they wanted our children to lie about an education they didn’t receive so they can get money for not teaching. After several weeks of this they switched remote learning to every day, but with only half the classes offered every day (even/odd periods). Then there is this access class that ONLY is there to help struggling students (meanwhile the teachers are bending over backwards to make sure no one fails) and the last “class” of the day is for teachers only. In other words, kids are done by noon basically. This wouldn’t be a concern if my children were to finish here, but next year they go to a school which has been offering full days full courses ever since Covid hit. I also wouldn’t be concerned if most schools around the planet also only offered half days, but I can’t find a single school that has their students done with their course work by noon. Meal pick up is hit or miss, maybe someone will be there during the designated times, maybe not. Even in non Covid times their drop off procedure is a dangerous cluster mess because they don’t take the effort at the beginning of the year to teach parents how it should work so people park in drop off lanes checking their Twitter feed for 10 minutes. And it’s Colorado, so expect this district and every other to cancel school for two inches of snow for the safety of teachers and students, because the 15 other states who deal with much MUCH more snow apparently don’t care about safety? They took a whole month off for Christmas and then the school called asking our whereabouts from dec. 21 until the kids start back in person Jan. 19 because apparently Covid now has an incubation period of 28 days. I can go on.... Close Quote
