Summary:
Zip code 95626 has two schools serving kindergarten through grade 8: Elverta Elementary serves grades K–5 and enrolled 159 students, while Alpha Technology Middle serves grades 6–8 and enrolled 59, for 218 students total. In 2025–2026, both schools’ all-grades proficiency was below the state in ELA, math and science; science was closest to the state overall. The most important finding for families is Alpha’s sharply different grade-level picture: sixth graders were above the state by 8 points in ELA and 19 in math, while seventh graders were below by 32 points in ELA and 28 in math, and eighth graders were below by 20 and 25 points, respectively.
Alpha Technology Middle leads the latest all-grades results in all three subjects, while Elverta Elementary is lower in each. Alpha’s proficiency was 36% in ELA, 28% in math and 35% in science, compared with Elverta’s 19%, 23% and 28%; the gaps were 18 points in ELA, 5 in math and 7 in science. Against state results of 49%, 38% and 36%, Alpha’s science score was closest, at about 1 point below the state. Because the schools serve different grade spans, their all-grades results are not same-grade comparisons.
The schools’ results shifted notably from 2024–2025: Alpha gained 9 points in ELA, 17 in math and 16 in science, while Elverta fell 14 points in ELA, was essentially unchanged in math (down 0 points), and rose 1 point in science. SchoolDigger’s statewide ranking moved from the 34th percentile to the 44th for Alpha, after a dip to the 17th; Elverta’s fell from the 31st to the 16th percentile. As context, in 2024–2025 Alpha had a student–teacher ratio of 20.0 versus 22.1 at Elverta, and free/reduced lunch eligible shares of 54% versus 70%; these figures do not explain score differences. Chronic absenteeism in 2025–2026 was also above the state’s 18% at both schools: 22% at Alpha and 21% at Elverta.
