Summary:

ZIP code 94939 has two high schools in the Tamalpais Union High district: Redwood High, serving grades 9–12, and San Andreas High (Continuation), serving grades 10–12. Their reported results show a sharply divided picture rather than one consistent profile for the area. The most important finding is the large proficiency gap: in 2025–2026, Redwood led San Andreas by 67 percentage points in ELA, 68 in math and 29 in science.

Redwood stands out at the top: 82% of students were proficient in ELA, 68% in math and 64% in science, compared with state rates of 49%, 38% and 36%. These figures are context, not explanations for the results; San Andreas is a small continuation school, and the schools serve different grade spans.
