In 2025–2026, their average proficiency was 46% in ELA and 34% in math, below state results of 49% and 38%; their average in science was 23%, compared with 36% statewide. The clearest area-wide concern is that all three schools have similarly low science results relative to the state.

Nelson stands out in ELA and math, scoring 59% and 46%—18 and 14 points above Westpark, respectively. Westpark is generally in the middle, while Pinedale has the lowest all-grades score in each subject: 39% in ELA, 25% in math and 21% in science. In science, however, Nelson and Westpark are virtually tied at 25%. SchoolDigger’s statewide rankings place Nelson at the 68th percentile, Westpark at the 41st and Pinedale at the 34th.

Results improved unevenly from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: the three-school mean rose in ELA from 41% to 46% and in math from 31% to 34%, narrowing the gaps with the state by 5 and 3 points; in science, the mean fell from 27% to 23%, widening the state gap by 7 points. Pinedale improved in all three subjects, including 9 points in ELA, while Nelson’s science result dropped 12 points. For added context, Nelson and Pinedale have similar enrollment (466 and 433), but their student–teacher ratios are 20.6 and 18.8. Their free/reduced lunch eligible figures for sy 2024–2025 were 60% and 91%, respectively; these are context measures, not explanations for score differences. Grade-level results also vary: all three schools exceeded the state in grade 3 math, even though not all did so in grade 3 ELA.
