Five K–5 elementary schools serve ZIP code 90304 in the Lennox area, and their 2025–26 results show meaningful differences between schools. Across the five, average proficiency was 40% in English language arts (ELA), 36% in math and 31% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38% and 36%. Math was closest to the state, while the overall science average was also below it. The clearest area-wide concern is ELA: the five-school average was 9 percentage points below the state.

Jefferson Elementary led the group in math and science, with 42% proficient in each; its results were 6 points above the group average in math and 8 points above it in science. Buford Elementary led ELA at 47%, 7 points above the group average, though still 3 points below the state. At the other end, Dolores Huerta Elementary had the lowest results in all three subjects: 30% in ELA, 31% in math and 20% in science. All five reported free/reduced lunch eligible figures for 2024–25, ranging from 90% at Felton to 96% at Dolores Huerta; these figures provide context but do not explain the differences in results.
