Three high schools in ZIP code 90016 serve grades 9–12: Susan Miller Dorsey Senior High, Synergy Quantum Academy, and View Park Continuation. Their results vary substantially, and the clearest shared academic challenge in the 2024–25 comparison is math: the average of reported school results was 16%, compared with 37% statewide, a 21-point gap.

Synergy Quantum Academy had the strongest reported 2024–25 results, while Dorsey had the weakest in each subject. Synergy scored 51% in ELA, 25% in math, and 35% in science; it led Dorsey by 23, 16, and 25 points, respectively. Synergy was also above the state in ELA by 2 points and science by 3, though it was 13 points below in math. View Park fell between the two in ELA (45%) and science (27%); its math result is suppressed.

Dorsey improved from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by 10 points in ELA, 10 in math, and 7 in science, but remained below California by 11, 20, and 19 points.
