Open Quote Small class sizes, incredible teachers, and lots of time to play. The vibe of the school is inspired and focused. The kids get so much done each day without rewards, competition, iPad apps, or stress. No homework. And yet, they’re academically thriving.

Tru is a teacher-owned, teacher-led school that pays detailed attention to the interests of the kids and masterfully infuses learning into those interests and vice versa. The school plays are written to reflect the emergent curiosities of the kids in perpetually changing and thus ever-relevant annual themes.

Distractions are brilliantly managed and math and writing are given long blocks of work time to encourage focused attention. The mindfulness practices, thoughtful child-centric routines, and school rituals that often involve yoga and singing contribute to a sense of intention and community connection. Close Quote
