PROS: Parent community is welcoming, diverse & involved. My children are progressing well academically. Good facilities. Good camaraderie between kids. Hot lunch program. AM/PM onsite Extended Care. CONS: Principal needs much improvement. School used to offer Homework Club, which Ms. Boland replaced with yoga sessions. If you raise a concern, she will deflect or tell you one thing to appease you but walk back on her word – makes it difficult to have an open line of communication. Often needs to be reminded to communicate to parents. Principal has shown a preference not to collaborate with parents by reducing the required volunteer hours & instead has asked for cash donations. Has shut down parents’ voices. It is her way or the highway. Takes offense to parents raising concerns doesn’t acknowledge any missteps. She struggles with treating people fairly shows bias towards certain parents with whom she sees value to. Hope the principal does not cause the outstanding teachers to leave.
