Open Quote Archer has exceeded my expectations for all 3 of my daughters' educations. The first graduated in 2003 with high honors and went on to study at St. Andrews in Scotland. The middle school is a perfect blend of academics and FUN! The curriculum, supported with cutting edge teaching methods, develops each girl to their greatest potential. I see Archer as one of the BEST GIRLS schools in AMERICA. Close Quote

Open Quote Archer has transformed my daughter. After one year at Archer, she exudes confidence, a willingness to take risks, and above all, despite these hormonally charged years, she continues to be caring, respectful, and compassionate. I am forever grateful to the Archer faculty and administration who employ innovative teaching techniques inside and outside the classroom and always strive higher. Head of School, Elizabeth English, is taking this school into the 21st Century by employing the latest research based teaching techniques, integrating the latest technology, and embarking on a campus plan that will provide new facilities that are equal to the caliber of the faculty, administration and students. Above all, unlike many middle schools, the Archer parent community is warm and inclusive. Not only does Archer prepare our girls, but they educate the parents to form a cohesive partnership in our girls' learning. Close Quote

Open Quote Supportive, nurturing, caters to the specific girl's strengths and weaknesses. Treats all girls as unique individuals where they are given the freedom to excel as fast and far as they are able. Archer also encourages every girl to try new things, something out of their comfort zone. Girls can go for extra help ANY time-most teachers are available throughout the day as well as after school. There are late buses that leave at 5:30 every day so after-school activities are not an issue. Archer has strong sports, theatre, and music departments as well. Archer is also a strong supporter of Math and Science and really encourages study in the fields that usually intimidate young women. I have two daughters there; they are "night and day' and both are thriving. Close Quote

Open Quote Archer provides a place for girls to learn the way girls learn. They are their own role models. Students are not there to impress boys or even each other. The girls support and encourage one another to be the best they can be. An Archer Girl is independent, smart, confident, and caring. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
