Graciano Gomez Elementary serves 481 students in grades K–6 in San Bernardino, as part of San Bernardino City Unified. In 2025–26, SchoolDigger ranked it 5,403rd of 5,804 California schools, in the 7th percentile, with 0 stars. The central finding for families is that proficiency in all three core tested subjects was low: 23% in English language arts (ELA), 13% in math, and 10% in science.

Results were below district and state rates in every core subject, and below the average of six nearby same-district K–6 schools. ELA was 16 points below the district and 26 below the state; math was 12 and 25 points lower, respectively; and science was 15 and 26 points lower. Third grade was especially weak: ELA proficiency was 13% and math was 10%, the lowest rates among those six nearby schools. A notable exception is fourth-grade CSA Spanish writing, where 48% were proficient, compared with 21% in the district and 27% statewide. For all grades, CSA Spanish writing was also slightly above the district rate, at 15% versus 13%.

Core results have not kept pace with state improvement: from 2022–23 to 2025–26, math proficiency fell 7 points and its gap with the state widened by 11 points. Chronic absenteeism, by contrast, improved from 47% in 2021–22 to 28% in 2025–26; that latest rate was 1 point below the district but 10 points above the state. The school reported that 97% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible in 2024–25. SchoolDigger’s student-group rankings show a notable strength and a sharp change: in 2023–24, English Language Learner Students ranked in the 66th percentile for how well the school served that group, versus the school’s overall 10th percentile; for Homeless Students, the ranking fell from the 91st percentile in 2024–25 to the 9th in 2025–26.
