Summary

Bridges @ Melrose Academy Elementary is a K–5 school in Oakland, California, with 389 students. Its 2025–2026 proficiency results were low across all three tested subjects: about 10% in English language arts (ELA), 10% in math, and 5% in science. Those results trail California by 40 percentage points in ELA, 28 in math, and 31 in science, and trail Oakland Unified by 25, 17, and 23 points, respectively. The most important finding is that, despite some improvement over time, the school remains substantially behind both state and district proficiency levels.
