Summary

Snow Elementary is a K–5 school in Napa, in Napa Valley Unified, serving 402 students. In 2025–26, its proficiency rates were below the district and California in English language arts (ELA), math, and science. The biggest concern is that ELA and math results were especially low: about 20% of students were proficient in ELA and 16% in math, compared with 44% and 32% districtwide, and 49% and 38% statewide.

Among nearby K–5 schools, Snow was near the bottom in ELA and math, but closer to the middle in science. Chronic absenteeism also fell from 47% in 2021–22 to 25% in 2025–26, but remained above the district’s 18% and state’s 18%. SchoolDigger ranked Snow at the 10th statewide percentile with 0 stars in 2025–26, second-lowest among nearby district schools with rankings. In 2024–25, its student-teacher ratio was 22.3, and 89% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible—18.9 percentage points above the nearby-school average. One notable subgroup finding: SchoolDigger’s measure of how well Snow serves English Language Learner Students fell from the 42nd statewide percentile in 2021–22 to the 17th in 2022–23, where it remained in 2023–24; the school overall was at the 10th percentile that year.
