Summary

Lugo Elementary serves 318 students in grades K–6 in Lynwood, California. In 2025–2026, about 29% of students met proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA), 20% in math, and 19% in science—below California’s rates of 49%, 38%, and 36%. Chronic absenteeism was 34%, compared with 18% statewide and 31% in Lynwood Unified. The most important concern is that academic proficiency remains below the state in all three subjects while absenteeism is substantially higher.
