Vineyard Alternative is a small alternative high school in Livermore, serving 92 students in grades 7–12 in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified area. Its 2025–26 chronic absenteeism rate was 46%, compared with 18% statewide and 12% districtwide, though it has improved from 67% in 2022–23. Graduation is a brighter result: 94% in 2025–26, above the state’s 88% but below the district’s 97%. The most important academic concern is math: proficiency was 15% in 2025–26, down from 38% in 2022–23.

ELA is Vineyard’s strongest subject compared with the state, while math is its weakest: ELA proficiency was 52%, about 2 points above the state, but 9 points below the district; math was 23 points below the state and 37 below the district.
