Summary

Orchard Elementary is a K-6 public school serving 366 students in Rio Linda, part of the Twin Rivers Unified School District, and it is a school on a clear and positive upward trend in both student attendance and academic performance.

The school has shown significant improvement since the pandemic, moving its statewide ranking from the 27th to the 41st percentile, and it now outperforms the district average in English, Math, and Science. A major success story is its management of chronic absenteeism, which at 22.6% is dramatically better than the district average and better than most nearby schools like Sierra View Elementary and F. C. Joyce Tk-8. However, performance varies by grade, with strong 3rd and 6th-grade results but a notable dip in 5th-grade scores that the school is working to address.

Compared to other schools in the area, Orchard Elementary has the highest per-student spending. While it performs better than some peers with similar student demographics, it does not score as high as schools like Regency Park Elementary, which achieves higher results with lower spending, indicating room to refine how resources are used. Overall, Orchard is a improving school that is effectively getting students to class and raising achievement, positioning it as a solid choice within the community.

Open Quote The principal is a bully and says not ok things to the children . shes been written up but twinrivers fails to fix the issue. She firced me to move my kids to a different school after my kids being there sense kindergarden. Now other parents are posting simliar complaints . this could of been avoided if they did somthing about the first time. Instead of ignore the parents. Orchard was once the best school ever and now id tell you dont send your kid there . Close Quote
