Summary:
The Hope Elementary area has one school, Hope Elementary, serving kindergarten through grade 8 and enrolling 237 students. In 2025–2026, the school was above California’s all-grade proficiency results in ELA, math, and science: 50% versus 49% in ELA, 55% versus 38% in math, and 47% versus 36% in science. Its reported chronic absenteeism was also lower than the state’s, at 6% compared with 18%. The clearest academic strength is math, where Hope was 17 points above the state.
With only one school in the area, there is no school-to-school leader or trailer; state comparisons and grade-level differences show where Hope stands out. Its math result was 17 points above California, compared with an 11-point advantage in science and a 1-point advantage in ELA. But the all-grade results conceal variation by grade: Hope was below the state in ELA in grades 3–5, including a 15-point shortfall in grade 4, and above it in grades 6–8, including a 17-point advantage in grade 8. In math, Hope was above the state in every reported grade except grade 4, where it was 4 points below.
Hope’s results changed little in ELA and math from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while science proficiency fell by 11 points, from 57% to 47%. Its advantage over the state narrowed in all three subjects: in science, from 25 points to 11; in ELA, from 2 points to 1; and only slightly in math, from 17.0 to 16.8 points. SchoolDigger’s ranking percentile rose from 64th in 2023–2024 to 68th in 2025–2026, with a three-star rating in each year, though that upward trend did not mean every subject improved. As context, Hope Elementary reported that 55% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible in 2024–2025.
