Cambrian

Cambrian has six schools—five elementary schools and one middle school—serving grades from elementary through middle school. In 2025–26, the schools’ average proficiency was above the state average in English language arts (ELA), math and science, but results varied considerably across schools. The clearest overall finding is that Steindorf STEAM K-8 Magnet led the group in all three subjects.

Steindorf reached 83% proficiency in ELA, 81% in math and 82% in science—about 34, 43 and 46 percentage points above state results, respectively. Price Charter Middle was second in ELA and science, at 72% and 59%, and third in math, at 63%. At the other end, Sartorette Charter had the group’s lowest math and science results, at 40% and 36%; its science result was just below the state’s. The six-school averages were 63% in ELA, 60% in math and 54% in science, with the largest average advantage over the state in math.

Across the six schools, average proficiency fell from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by about 2 points in ELA, 3 in math and 6 in science, while state results rose; the group’s lead narrowed most in science, by 9 points. Individual trends differed: Price improved in all three subjects, while Sartorette fell in all three, including 19 points in science. SchoolDigger’s statewide ranking was 99th percentile for Steindorf and 91st for Price; Sartorette’s fell from the 73rd to the 62nd percentile. Sartorette also had the lowest student-teacher ratio, 18.5, showing that ratio alone does not sort schools by results. All six reported free/reduced lunch eligible figures for 2024–25; for example, Fammatre Elementary reported 22% and Sartorette 21%, alongside very different fifth-grade math results of 53% and 25%.
