Elementary Schools in Cabrillo Unified

Cabrillo Unified has four elementary schools serving kindergarten through grade 5, and their 2025–26 averages were above the state in ELA (54% versus 49%), math (51% versus 38%) and science (47% versus 36%, among three schools with reported results). However, school results varied widely—from 30 percentage points in ELA to 46 in math and 40 in science—so the area-wide averages conceal substantial differences between schools.

El Granada led in ELA at 64%, 15 points above the state, while Kings Mountain led in math at 75%, 37 points above the state and 23 points ahead of the next-highest school. Farallone View led in science at 66%, 30 points above the state, and had low chronic absenteeism at 5%, compared with 18% statewide. Alvin S. Hatch had the lowest results in all three subjects: 34% in ELA, 29% in math and 26% in science, respectively 15, 10 and 10 points below state results.

Recent results show different directions at schools that currently perform well: Farallone View’s ELA, math and science scores fell by 9, 15 and 7 points from 2024–25, while El Granada’s rose by 6, 6 and 27 points. Kings Mountain’s ELA fell 26 points to 60%, even as its math rose 25 points to 75%. SchoolDigger’s percentile ranking for El Granada climbed from 52nd in 2023–24 to 75th in 2025–26. For added context, 2024–25 student–teacher ratios ranged from 15.3 at Kings Mountain to 26.2 at Hatch; the schools’ free/reduced lunch eligible shares that year ranged from 6% at Farallone View to 36% at Hatch. These figures describe different school contexts but do not establish what explains achievement.
