Summary:
Buckeye Union Elementary includes nine schools: six elementary schools, two middle schools and one alternative school serving kindergarten through grade 12. In 2025–26, the unweighted school averages were 70% in ELA, 65% in math and 62% in science, compared with California averages of 49%, 38% and 36%; excluding the alternative school, the averages were 67%, 61% and 58%. The key takeaway is that these averages conceal a very wide range: Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter outscored Buckeye Elementary by 49 percentage points in ELA, 58 in math and 59 in science.
Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter had the highest all-grades results: 97% in ELA, 97% in math and 96% in science. As a K–12 alternative school, its results are not a direct like-for-like comparison with schools serving narrower grade spans. Among the other eight schools, Rolling Hills Middle led in ELA and math, at 76% and 70%, while Camerado Springs Middle led in science, at 70%; those results were 27, 32 and 34 percentage points above state figures. Buckeye Elementary was lowest in all three subjects, at 48% in ELA, 40% in math and 37% in science—just below the state in ELA and about 1 point above it in math and science.
Recent changes were uneven: across all nine schools, average ELA and math scores fell by 2 and 3 percentage points, while science was essentially unchanged; state results rose by less than 1 point in ELA, 1 in math and 3 in science, narrowing the area’s advantage in every subject. Blue Oak Elementary improved 4 points in math, while Buckeye Elementary fell 9 points in ELA, 15 in math and 13 in science. SchoolDigger ranks the district 108th of 968 districts (89th percentile, four stars); among schools, Rolling Hills Middle is at the 95th percentile and Buckeye Elementary at the 58th. As context, free/reduced lunch eligible shares in 2024–25 were 40% at Buckeye Elementary and 11% at Silva Valley Elementary; these figures describe the schools and do not explain their test results.
