Summary:
The OCS - South District has one school, OCS - South, a K–8 school with 392 students in California. In 2025–2026, the school’s all-grade proficiency was above the state in English language arts (ELA), mathematics and science: 52% versus 49% in ELA, 48% versus 38% in math, and 43% versus 36% in science. Its largest advantage was in math, at 10 percentage points—the clearest overall strength in the district.
There are no other schools in the list to compare at the top or bottom, and the school’s results vary by grade. Math was 27 points above the state in grade 6 (64% versus 37%), but 18 points below in grade 5 (19% versus 37%). In ELA, the school was 11 points below the state in both grades 3 and 5, but 7 points above in grade 4, 12 above in grade 6 and 9 above in grade 7. Grade 5 science was 8 points above the state (43% versus 35%). These differences show why the all-grade results do not describe performance in every grade equally.
Although the school remains above the state in all three subjects, its results fell from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: ELA declined 16 points, math 5 and science 13, while state results rose in each subject. SchoolDigger’s rating also moved down, from the 77th percentile and 4 stars in 2024–2025 to the 64th percentile and 3 stars in 2025–2026. For context, the 2024–2025 student-teacher ratio was 19.6, and 29% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible; the data also note that all California students receive free school meals statewide. Chronic absenteeism was 21%, compared with 18% statewide. Grade 8 test results are suppressed, and with just one school, school-to-school or similar-school comparisons are not available.
