Summary:

STEM Preparatory Elementary District has one school, STEM Preparatory Elementary, serving kindergarten through fifth grade and 303 students. With no other schools in the district to compare, the clearest measure of its results is how they compare with California’s. In 2025–2026, the school was below the state in all three all-grades subjects: about 41% of students were proficient in English language arts, compared with 49% statewide; 35% in math, compared with 38%; and 24% in science, compared with 36%. The most important finding is that science had the largest state gap, at 12 percentage points, while math was closest, at 3 points.

STEM Preparatory Elementary is both the district’s highest- and lowest-ranked school by default, so that is not a meaningful distinction among local peers. Within the school’s results, ELA was highest overall and science lowest, but math came closest to the state. Grade-level results add useful detail: fifth-grade ELA was 48%, just 1 point below the state’s 49%, while fourth-grade math was 33%, 9 points below the state’s 42%. Fifth-grade science was 24%, 11 points below the state’s 35%. These figures suggest that results vary by subject and grade, even though the school remained below state results in every listed comparison.

Results improved in all three subjects from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, and the gaps with the state narrowed. The school gained 6 points in ELA, 4 in math, and 6 in science; its state gaps narrowed by 5, 3, and 3 points, respectively. SchoolDigger lists the school at the 43rd percentile with 2 stars in 2025–2026, up from the 32nd percentile in 2023–2024; those rankings are a separate measure from the test results. Other context includes a student-teacher ratio of 23.3 and 82% free/reduced lunch eligible in 2024–2025. Chronic absenteeism was 25% in 2025–2026, compared with 18% statewide, a 7-point difference.
