Summary:

The ISANA Himalia Academy District has one school, ISANA Himalia Academy, serving kindergarten through grade 8 and 655 students. In 2025–26, the school’s proficiency rates were 34% in English Language Arts, 26% in mathematics and 18% in science, compared with California rates of 49%, 38% and 36%. The most important finding is that the school was below the state in all three subjects, by 15 percentage points in ELA, 12 points in mathematics and 18 points in science; science had the widest gap.

Because there is only one school in the district, it is both the highest- and lowest-scoring school in the group, which does not show how it compares with other local schools. Grade-level results offer a more detailed picture: fourth-grade mathematics was 40%, just 3 percentage points below the state’s 42%, and eighth-grade ELA was 43%, 6 points below the state’s 49%. Gaps were wider in seventh-grade mathematics, where the school scored 18% versus 38% statewide, and fifth-grade ELA, at 30% versus 49%. These differences show that results vary by grade, even though the overall school figures trail state results.

Results improved from 2024–25 to 2025–26 in all three subjects: ELA rose 2 percentage points, mathematics 5 points and science 2 points. The ELA and mathematics gaps with the state narrowed, from 17 to 15 points and from 16 to 12 points, respectively; the science gap widened from 17 to 18 points. SchoolDigger’s standing rose from the 15th percentile in 2023–24 to the 28th percentile in 2025–26, while its rating remained 1 star. Context figures include a 22.8 student–teacher ratio in 2024–25, and 97% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible that year. Chronic absenteeism was 20% in 2025–26, 2 percentage points above the state’s 18%.
