Healdsburg Unified

The four schools in Healdsburg Unified serve grades K–12 in the Healdsburg area, with 1,221 students total and enrollments ranging from 24 to 503. In 2025–2026, the three schools with reported results averaged 57% in English language arts (ELA), 44% in math and 43% in science, each above the state rate. But math varied widely by school: results ranged from 26% to 60%, a 34-point spread. The most important finding is that above-state averages mask sharply different school results, particularly in math.

Healdsburg Elementary led in math at 60%—22 points above the state—and science at 49%, 13 points above. Healdsburg High led in ELA at 65%, 15 points above the state, but had the lowest math result: 26%, 13 points below the state. Healdsburg Junior High was above the state in all three subjects, though its science result was only slightly higher. Marce Becerra Academy had 91.7% chronic absenteeism, compared with 24% at High; its test results are suppressed, so its academic performance cannot be compared.

Junior High improved across all subjects from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: 6 points in ELA, 16 in math and 5 in science. High declined in all three, including 11 points in math, while Elementary gained 2 points in math but fell 8 in ELA and 2 in science. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile ranking rose for Junior High, from the 52nd percentile in 2023–2024 to the 75th in 2025–2026; Elementary moved from the 72nd to 70th, and High from the 81st in 2024–2025 to the 68th. As context, in 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 74% at Elementary, 65% at Junior High and 57% at High; student-teacher ratios were 13.5, 16.6 and 17, respectively. These figures describe different school contexts, not explanations for the score patterns.
