Elementary Schools in Delhi Unified

Delhi Unified has three elementary schools serving kindergarten through grade 6, with 1,199 students total and enrollments ranging from 289 to 458. In 2025–26, Harmony Elementary led in ELA and math, but across all three schools the unweighted average in ELA, math, and science was 29%, compared with a state average of 41%. The most important area-wide finding is that the gap from the state widened: the schools’ average fell from 32% in 2024–25 to 29% in 2025–26, while the state average rose from 40% to 41%.

Harmony Elementary stands out in the core subjects: its 48% ELA result was 22 percentage points higher than the lowest school, El Capitan Elementary at 26%, and its 45% math result was 18 points above Schendel Elementary at 27%. Harmony was 7 points above the state in math, though 1 point below it in ELA. El Capitan Elementary led in science at 20%, 5 points above Harmony, but was 16 points below the grade-five state result. In Spanish, Schendel Elementary led in listening and reading, with 26% in listening and 12% in reading; its reading result was 4 points above the state.

Recent results were mostly lower, with exceptions: Harmony math rose 1 point and El Capitan science rose 7 points, while school averages fell in all three core subjects as state rates increased. SchoolDigger ranks Harmony highest at the 59th percentile and three stars; Schendel and El Capitan are at the 23rd and 26th percentiles, with one star each. Student–teacher ratios range from 16.3 at Schendel to 18.8 at Harmony, which leads in ELA and math. As context, 2024–25 figures list 84% of Harmony and 91% of El Capitan students as free/reduced lunch eligible; Schendel reports 54% directly certified for free meals that year, a different measure and not directly comparable.
