Summary:
The Ross Valley Elementary area has five schools serving kindergarten through grade 8: four K–5 elementary schools and one grades 6–8 middle school, with 1,679 students enrolled. In 2025–2026, the five-school averages were 81% proficient in ELA, 77% in math and 70% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38% and 36%. The most important finding is that every school’s reported all-grades result was above the state result in all three subjects.
Wade Thomas Elementary led all-grades ELA and math, at 83% and 82%; its math result was 6 percentage points above the other schools’ average. Hidden Valley Elementary led science at 76.3%, narrowly ahead of Manor Elementary at 76.0%. Brookside Elementary had the lowest all-grades ELA and science results, 79% and 63%; its science score was 9 points below the other schools’ average. White Hill Middle had the lowest all-grades math result, 67%, but its middle-school results are not directly comparable with those of the elementary schools.
Average results rose from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: 2 percentage points in ELA, 3 in math and 5 in science. Gains were not universal: Wade Thomas fell 6 points in ELA, 2 in math and 3 in science, while Hidden Valley’s science score rose 12 points. SchoolDigger’s 2025–2026 rankings put Hidden Valley highest among the elementary schools at 133, followed by Wade Thomas at 179, Manor at 213 and Brookside at 385; White Hill ranked 134. Student–teacher ratios ranged from 17.3 at White Hill to 22.8 at Hidden Valley.
