Summary:

Soledad, California, has three high schools: Soledad High and Pinnacles High, which serve grades 9–12, and Soledad Transition Center, which serves grade 12 only. The two comprehensive high schools have 2025–2026 test results; no test scores or graduation and dropout rates are supplied for the Transition Center, and its small enrollment and different grade span make direct comparisons less certain. The clearest finding is that Soledad High leads Pinnacles in ELA and science, but both scored schools fall short of state proficiency levels in all three subjects.

Soledad High stands out for stronger ELA, science and completion results: its proficiency rates are 40% in ELA and 18% in science, compared with 17% and 3% at Pinnacles High—leads of 24 and 16 percentage points. Soledad also has a 97% graduation rate, 9 points above the state, and a 3% dropout rate, 5 points below it. Pinnacles is the exception in math, leading Soledad by 4 points (13% versus 9%), though both are well below the state benchmark. Pinnacles has the more concerning completion and attendance figures: graduation is 66%, 22 points below the state, dropout is 26%, 18 points above, and chronic absenteeism is 80%, compared with 18% statewide. The Transition Center’s chronic absenteeism is also high at 75%.

Recent results are mixed rather than improving across the board: from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, the two-school average rose 3 points in ELA and 1 point in math, while science fell 6 points, largely reflecting Pinnacles’ 13-point science decline. SchoolDigger ranks Soledad High at the 32nd percentile with 2 stars and Pinnacles at the 19th percentile with 1 star. Context figures do not neatly match the score ordering: in 2024–2025, both schools were about 85% free/reduced lunch eligible, while their student–teacher ratios were 21.9 at Soledad and 9.9 at Pinnacles; the lower-ratio school does not lead in ELA or science.
