Four schools serve 1,182 students in zip code 85643, spanning elementary through high school: Willcox Elementary School, Willcox Middle School, Willcox High School, and Bonita Elementary School. The newest reported results show the schools differ considerably, and the area’s average results are below state levels: the equal-weight school averages are 32% proficient in English Language Arts (ELA) and 24% in math, compared with 41% and 33% statewide. Because schools serve different grade spans, All Grades results are not perfectly matched comparisons. The most important finding is that the area average hides a wide gap between schools, especially in math.
Bonita Elementary School stands out at the top, with 49% proficient in ELA and 38% in math—8 and 5 percentage points above state results.
