Summary:
Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center INC. has two Arizona high schools serving grades 9–12: Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Inc. - Mesa, with 97 students, and AAEC Online, with 51, for 148 students altogether. Their results show different strengths, but the clearest finding is that Mesa’s ELA proficiency is markedly higher, while Online is only slightly above the state benchmark.
Mesa stands out in ELA: 61% of students are proficient, compared with 43% at Online and 41% statewide, an 18-point gap between the schools. The same school results appear for 11th-grade ELA; against the 38% state figure, Mesa is 23 points higher and Online is 5 points higher. Mesa also has a strong reportable math result: 56%, or 23 points above the all-grades state figure of 33%. Online’s 43% ELA result is 2 points above the state but 7 points below the district’s 50%. Online’s math result is state-suppressed, and proficiency data are available only for 2025–26, so the figures cannot support a two-school math comparison or a proficiency trend.
Mesa also has a stronger SchoolDigger ranking history: it reached the 84th percentile in 2025–26 (42nd of 256 schools), up from the 74th percentile in 2022–23; it was at the 81st percentile in 2021–22. Online has only one historical SchoolDigger rank listed. Staffing ratios may be useful context: Online’s was 7.2 students per teacher in 2024–25, versus 16.1 at Mesa, despite Online’s lower ELA result. Online’s 2023–24 dropout rate was 15%, compared with 8% for the district, while its earlier 2021–22 graduation rate was 92.3%; Mesa’s that year was 92.9%. These figures describe different years and measures, so they offer context rather than a clear trend.
