Summary

Eastside Elementary School in Rogers, AR, is a high-performing public school serving 505 students in grades PK through 5 within the Rogers School District, and it has earned a 5-star state rating for four of the last five years, ranking in the 91st percentile statewide for the 2025-2026 school year.

What truly sets Eastside apart is its exceptional and consistent academic performance, especially in mathematics, where 69.6% of students are proficient—a remarkable 16.2 percentage points above the district average and 25.5 points above the state average. This strength is not limited to one subject; Eastside outperforms the district average in every grade level and subject tested, including ELA, reading, math, and science. For example, while nearby Jones Elementary School sees math proficiency drop from 54.8% in 3rd grade to 46.7% in 5th grade, Eastside’s math scores actually rise from 61.6% to 74.1% over the same period, showing that the school effectively builds on student knowledge as they progress. Even compared to the Arkansas Arts Academy Elementary, a charter school with a lower poverty rate that excels in reading but struggles in math (36.2% proficient), Eastside offers a more well-rounded academic profile.

Eastside achieves these top-tier results with a relatively modest per-student spending of $11,124, which is lower than several nearby schools that perform significantly worse, such as Westside Elementary ($12,401) and Elza R. Tucker Elementary ($16,527). This efficiency is particularly impressive given that about 60% of Eastside’s students qualify for free or reduced lunch, a demographic that often correlates with lower test scores elsewhere. The school’s trajectory of improvement is also noteworthy—after a low point in 2020-2021, it has climbed to the top 50 schools in the state for four consecutive years, indicating successful, long-term strategies implemented by its leadership and staff.

Open Quote Coming from Australia I initially had some reservations regarding the quality of schools in a semi-rural/regional area like Rogers. When I enrolled my two boys there I was very pleased to find staff who all seemed to enjoy their work and take pride in helping all children achieve to their highest potential. This school has a VERY high number of children who come from Hispanic families and I would venture to say that in some cases these kids are the only ones in the home who speak English but that does not hold them or the school back. End of year assembly to hand out awards showed such a high number of students on Honor Roll and with perfect attendance I was really amazed. The principal is a strong leader who does a fantastic job in keeping her staff motivated to go above and beyond. The teachers are some of the hardest working people who truly love their jobs. There was not a single thing I could fault the school for. A really excellent school! A++ Close Quote
