Open Quote I have an A/B student, who brought home 2nd semester D's and C's. No one in the school noticed or notified me until all the assignments had been graded and turned in. For a month I spoke directly with my childs teachers, expressing my demand to be involved in her education if something was being missed at the school. After that month her two C's were back to A's or B's. However her D, has almost dropped to an F. This one teacher has been absolutely unreasonalbe, and unhelpful! After taking my concern to the VP and superintendent I was basically told the teacher can do whatever they want in their class. Were transferring school districts now. This is not acceptable to me. After the middle school also promoted for weeks jerky for jerks (with their anti-bullying policy) (This action was blamed entirely on the students, saying the teacher did not give the authority, and the students made, printed and hung, flyers all without the teachers knowledge.) , and their school at luis durham sent home pill bottles full of candy to explain the medicines vets use for animals! Where the hell is the oversight on what teachers are allowed to do? Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
