Open Quote When Pea Ridge High School did have the Flex Module schedule, it taught me so much about time management, which turned out to be very helpful, as I am in my freshman year of college. On the other hand, the teachers were undereducated. I feel so insufficient compared to my fellow school mates now. I feel as if Pea Ridge could do a better job at finding profficient teachers. The bullying was horrible as well. So many students were bullied or harrased in any form, and the bullier would not have a sever enough punishment. I was not bullied myself, but I did see many other students have this situation, and I felt horrible that I, a TEACHER, or someone OF AUTHORITY could not or would not help them. This school has much to improve on, including the food. Yes, all school lunch is bad, but this school is just devistating. Being an athelete, or someone who workedout on a regular basis, I felt, along with others, that we were not given enough food. A piece of pizza is not lunch. A hotdog, by its self, is not lunch. Pea Ridge should really expand their food menue, to inclue more vegetables, more meat, and less grease, or oil filled foods that dont fill anyone up. I eat more at mcdonalds for the same price that I pay for school lunch. Pea Ridge high school should give its students more credit instead of talking about how horrible we are and how privledged we are, ITS A POOR COMMUNITY, WE DONT HAVE A LOT TO BEGIN WITH, JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE MORE THAN YOU DID BACK IN THE DAY DOESNT MEAN WE DONT HAVE STRUGGLES, OUR PARENTS PROVIDE EVERYTHING FOR US, COMPLAIN TO THEM. The school in general was very gross, the floors werent swept or moped, a fellow student and I saw the same piece of gum on the floor for a week in a row. That looks so trashy and so gross, maybe if the school paid more attention to the actual building and the students inside of it, more than they did football or athletes over everyone, people might like Pea Ridge a little more. Its not that we have a slow population rate, its just that this school sucks and students feel like they didnt learn anything, or felt underappriciated or unoticed. I know I did. I get told "great job on that assignment" more in college than I did high school, and I just started college, and went to Pea Ridge for four years. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
