Summary

Perrin Elementary School in Benton, AR, is a K-4 school serving 465 students within the highly-rated Benton School District, and it stands out as a consistently high-performing school with a 5-star rating and a strong upward trend in academic rankings over the past decade.

Perrin’s most impressive strength is its exceptional mathematics performance. In the 2025-2026 school year, 69.5% of all students were proficient in math, which is 23 percentage points higher than the district average and 25 points above the state average. This is especially notable in 4th grade, where 75.6% of students are proficient—the highest rate among all K-4 schools in the district. Interestingly, Perrin achieves these results with lower spending per student ($9,602) compared to other high-performing schools like Caldwell Elementary ($10,825) and lower-performing schools like Angie Grant Elementary ($13,884), showing it is highly efficient in turning resources into strong outcomes. Perrin also outperforms top schools in the neighboring Bryant School District, such as Bryant Elementary and Collegeville Elementary, in English Language Arts, math, and science, solidifying its status as a regional academic leader.

Within the Benton School District, Perrin is a "middle performer" in a trio of high-achieving schools. While it is outperformed by Caldwell Elementary and Mt. View Elementary in most subjects, it dramatically outperforms Ringgold Elementary and Angie Grant Elementary. A fascinating pattern is the "4th grade leap" in math: in 3rd grade, Perrin’s math proficiency is nearly identical to Caldwell and Mt. View, but by 4th grade, Perrin’s students make a significant jump to 75.6% proficiency, outpacing its rivals. This suggests that Perrin’s 4th-grade math instruction is exceptionally effective, creating a competitive advantage for families seeking a school with strong academic growth.

Open Quote I am not pleased with the way this school is run or the way they treat our children. I will be sending my child elsewhere, and I suggest other parents not be mislead by their high academic scores. The high scores are at the expense of the confidence of our children. To them, scores matter more than being an encouragement to the kids. Close Quote
