Summary

Rose Hill Elementary is a highly-regarded public K-5 school with about 570 students in Kirkland, part of the top-performing Lake Washington School District, consistently earning 5-star ratings and ranking in the top 10% of all Washington elementary schools.

The school stands out for its strong and balanced academic performance, particularly in math, and its success with a diverse student population. While nearby schools like Norman Rockwell Elementary and Lakeview Elementary also score very high, Rose Hill achieves similar excellence while serving nearly twice the percentage of students from lower-income families. It shows particular strength in supporting male students and English Language Learners, and it operates efficiently, achieving these results with lower per-student spending than many comparison schools in the district.

Rose Hill represents a compelling balance of high achievement and community diversity. For instance, while Cherry Crest Elementary School in the Bellevue School District has slightly higher test scores, it serves a much more affluent population. Rose Hill’s consistent improvement trajectory and ability to deliver top-tier education across different student groups make it a standout choice within a competitive area.

Open Quote Rose Hill is beyond amazing! The staff is wonderful and everyone is on the same page and to top it they are open to new ideas, willing to change things up and do anything to help make your child successful. The principal, Mrs. Hodges is the best principal I have worked with in a long time. She has lots of energy, experience, has two kids or her own, she gets it, takes reading breaks with kids individually and she knows all her students names. The PTSA rocks and the parent involvement is by far the most I have seen. They throw fun, free events (Cultural/Movie Night, Bingo, BBQ's, Talent Show, Dance-o-thons, Halloween Party, Reading w/Rover (is was founded at this school) & they still make everyone feel welcome. There is a wonderful art docent program too. They celebrate & acknowledge the children often. If there are too many students in a classroom they create another classroom at the beginning of the year. I highly recommend this school. We actually transferred to this school and made sure to purchase a house within the school limits to ensure we could attend. I am so thankful to have Rose Hill Elementary in our children's life. Seriously! It's a small school with a huge heart. Close Quote

Open Quote I put my son to this school from Ben Rush elementary this year. Although initially I felt that learning pace in his class is a bit slow and they were not using a few new technologies (already being used in his older school) but they caught up to speed soon once his (first time 4th grade) teachers Ms. Clark and Mrs. Mead got hold of the class. Now I feel that he is learning at faster pace than his previous school. His teacher is co-operative, understanding and accommodating. I am happy that I took this decision to change his school this year. Close Quote
