Crestwood Elementary faces some significant challenges. Student performance on SOL (Standards of Learning) tests is generally below the Chesterfield County and Virginia state averages across various subjects and grade levels. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, Crestwood's 5th-grade math proficiency rate was 63.64%, compared to 73.31% for Chesterfield County and 71.56% for Virginia. The school also has consistently higher chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 14.5% to 20.8% in recent years. Additionally, Crestwood has a very high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 53.23% to 81.38% in recent years, indicating a high level of economic disadvantage among the student population.

Open Quote One of the nest hidden gems on the area! The PTA has consistently won awards for their service. Parents of ALL children are involved in their children’s education. Teachers are hard-working and dedicated to the best instruction for students. Everyone advocates for all children, and the student body and staff are diverse. Parents here realize that it takes a village to raise successful children. Responsibility does solely rely on the teachers and administrators. Focus is on the “whole” child, not just test scores.
