The Governor's School is simply an unparalleled education for the area. It's testing performance makes it a "public elite" per Newsweek rankings, and as an alum of the school I found the academics to be rigorous while the student population diverse and down-to-earth. Testing-based admissions ensures that your classmates are gifted - but unlike many well-ranked public schools there is more economic diversity than "upper middle class white." On the whole, I found attendance at a well-ranked college to be rather easier than high school. Close Quote
