My daughter attended Toledo Preparatory and Fitness academy for the 2022-2023 school year. She will NOT be returning next year. All school year she was bullied and nothing was done.
Her classmates talked about her appearance, the fact she's adopted, her glasses. One girl even slapped her glasses off her face.
They went through her stuff/desk. They slammed her computer shut when she was using It. And even though the classroom was tiny somehow the teacher never saw or heard any of this happening so it was my daughter's word against the other children so "there was nothing they could do".
After speaking to the principal about it he then intimidated my daughter to not tell us what was going on at school or he'd be "very very very upset with her". She came home terrified, crying begging us not to call him anymore. She was scared of making him mad because in her own words "Mr. Green is scary when he's mad at us".
They with held bathroom privileges multiple times. To the point she almost had accidents on her self (she's 10 years old)
A child in a different grade brought a knife in to the school, parents were not notified
and the girl was allowed to come back to school a few weeks later. A parent was mad his car got scratched in the parking lot and threatened to shoot the school up. He was allowed to remain on the premises, and when he was there for events or pick up my child was told to "stay away and ignore him". My 10 year old dreaded going to school because she felt unsafe.
The number one reason we chose Toledo preparatory and fitness academy was the "zero bullying tolerance policy". Yet my daughter was bullied the entire school year. Due to personal issues at home pulling her and putting her in a different school was not an option. I wish it was because of what she had to go through.
My husband even called the superintendent to discuss all these issuses, and he never heard back.
They do not care about the kids. It's all about numbers and money.
