Open Quote Bias teachers, cliques, hidden bullying. 1 word from bias teachers can limit the potential of a student. "Ready" vs "Not ready." Close Quote

Open Quote IS 289 has excellent facilities, unfortunately, the quality and quantity of learning is low. If one add the fact of how many parents hire tutors and the amount of time their spend with their kids to bring them up to the expected level of their grade. IS 289 is not doing a good job. Analyzing the performance data from 6th to 8th grade it is clear that there is a degradation of learning. Worse how come only 15 students out of 91 took the Integrated regency exam in 2012? There is a lack of coordination among teachers. There is no feedback between teachers and students. The parent Coordinator is invisible (not a single communication from her to parents). Parent - Teacher conference does not exist. It is replaced with family conference: Meet with a coach who has no knowledge of student progress/grade, only what student set goal is. Close Quote
