Kingston Elementary School has shown mixed performance on standardized tests compared to the district and state averages. While the school's 5th-grade English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics proficiency rates are above the state average, its 3rd and 4th-grade ELA and Mathematics proficiency rates are generally lower than the district and state averages. Additionally, the school's performance on the NJSLA-S (Science) assessment for 5th grade is below the district and state averages. When compared to other elementary schools in the Cherry Hill School District, A. Russell Knight Elementary School and Richard Stockton Elementary School stand out with stronger academic performance, higher rankings, and lower chronic absenteeism rates. In contrast, schools like Joyce Kilmer Elementary and Clara Barton Elementary have lower academic performance and higher chronic absenteeism rates compared to Kingston Elementary School. The school's higher chronic absenteeism rate and relatively high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch are factors that may contribute to its academic challenges and should be addressed through targeted interventions and support.

Open Quote Kingston pulls in a greater number of disadvantaged children and/or children for whom English is a second language than any other elementary school in Cherry Hill. They offer great resources for our children who attend, including inclusion classes, a dedicated English as a second language class for each grade level and they have just brought in a dynamic principle who has been a principle at a Early Learning school in Cherry Hill. It does NOT deserve the mediocre rating it receives, when evaluated simply by test scores, for the above reasons. I would highly recommend this school!!! Close Quote
